Eleventh Month of Lior Sent

Hip, Hip, Hurray! Only two more months until our Sun Baby turns a year old. And only two more months until the end of the cold season. Let us hope that this also means an end to Lior's colds, which seem to follow one after the other. Fortunately, as you can see, our Sun Baby does not seem too bothered by it. The only problem is that he sometimes wakes up at night because of his coughing and sniffling. He now sleeps through the minority of the nights and mom is ready for this to become the majority.
Lior has definitely become too big for his pram and gets a much better view of his surroundings in his stroller (row below). Wherever he is, Lior likes to hold on to something, be it a toy (row below, left) or a slice of bread (row below, right). At night he has a tight grip on his stuffed toy, the sweet boy.
Lior and Luna visit Frank (left) and Ellen (right) in Velp. Esther-Mirjam went to high school with Frank and has kept in touch with her friend ever since. Frank and Ellen are the proud parents of three adorable children who capture Luna's attention. Meanwhile, Lior explores the house by crawling on the floor.
Saturday and Sunday mornings get off to a wonderful start, with Lior and Luna getting to hang out on mama's bed (row above, left, and right). Mom is fortunate that both children like to sleep out, sometimes until 10 or 11 AM. And she is especially fortunate to have such darling children, of course!
One is never too young to try the merry-go-round. This is what Oma Alie is thinking when she goes for a ride with her young grandson (right).
And one is never too young to learn to play the piano. This is what Opa Ben is thinking when he sits at the piano with his young grandson (left).
And one is never too old to hang out on someone's lap. This is what Tante Daphne is thinking when she has her young nephew on her lap (right).
Yippee! Lior has learned a new trick. That is, he is now able to sit without help (row below). He loves to practice it over and over and over....
With his newly acquired agility, a whole new world opens up for our Sun Baby (row below). Mom is not sure whether to be excited about this!
When Lior spends a weekend visiting his sister Lenneke in Apeldoorn, he also gets to meet Romano (row below), the son of a friend of the Brink children. What is hard to believe is that Romano is about four months younger than our Sun Baby. Lior does try to take advantage of his developmental lead by squeezing Romano's cheeks.
Darn, Lior cannot get his sock off (row below, left). Yippee, he manages to do so in the end (row below, middle). Darn, his sister is putting the sock back on (row below, right).
Lior continues to be a very happy baby (row above). Part of the reason is that Oma Alie gives him lots of loving (left) and jokes around with him (right).
Lior, Luna, and Esther-Mirjam are very fortunate that Oma Alie and Opa Ben go grocery shopping for them every Tuesday (row below, left and right). Oma Naatje and Opa Tano do the same on Friday. Our big boy barely fits into the baby seat and is about ready to graduate to a regular seat on the grocery cart!
Aafke and her friend Sanne take Lior and Luna to the petting zoo (left). That is, this outing is mostly for Luna's enjoyment...
...while Lior watches his youngest sister from a distance and gets bored with the whole thing (right).
Lior has moved from the combat crawl to the regular crawl, as you can see in the video clip to which you have access by clicking on the link below. Indeed, he is almost too fast for his mom to capture it on video!

Lior has learned a cute new trick, which is to wave "bye bye" with his hand while saying "da da" (the Dutch equivalent of "bye bye"). You can see this in the video clip to which you have access by clicking on the link below.

Hip, Hip, Hurray!
Eleven months old!

Lior is now big enough to hang out in the bathtub with his sister Luna (row below). He loves to chew on her toys, which is not always to her liking. When she grabs a toy from him, Lior informs his mom loud and clear of his displeasure.
