Third Month of Lior Sent

As our Sun Baby enters his third month on Planet Earth, he starts greeting the world around him with lots of smiles (row below). He finds the ball & bell that Ome Arno gave especially amusing. It hangs above his changing table and makes him smile whenever he looks at it. He also likes to copy the many smiles that he gets from his loving mom, of course!
When the Sent Family visits the Dolfinarium (Marine World) in Harderwijk, Luna guards her brother from the front of the stroller (far left), while her brother sleeps through most of the visit (middle left). The poor baby's sleep is interrupted whenever the family goes to a show at which strollers are not allowed.
Last month we brought you the potentially disturbing news that Lior was showing early signs of balding. We can now put your worries to rest by showing you that Lior's hair is appearing to make a quick comeback (right). If only we were all this lucky, eh?
When the warm weather returns to the Netherlands, Lior gets to sleep outside during the day, giving him some quality snooze time (row below). He does not sleep a whole lot during the day, but makes up for it at night. The longest time between two feedings has been five hours, but most of the time Lior's hungry tummy wakes him up after three hours, and his mom along with it. Esther-Mirjam makes up for the lack of nightly sleep by taking a nap with her children in the afternoon. Whenever she skips it, she ends up with a very bad headache. Sometimes life is rough for a single mom. Yet, her "two miracles" make up for whatever discomfort she experiences.
When Lior is outside (and inside), his big sister Luna keeps a watchful eye over her little brother (left). And mom keeps a watchful eye over Luna to make sure she understands that Lior is a little baby.
When big sister Lenneke gave Lior this cute hat two months ago, it was way too big (see first month). Now it fits him perfectly and keeps his head out of the sun and his eyes in the shade (right). And he looks cool in the process. What more can one ask for?
Lior spends a large part of each day eating, hence (at least) four images are in order to picture this (left and right). He eats about seven times a day, roughly fortyfive minutes each time. Esther-Mirjam is so happy that the breastfeeding is going so well. She enjoys the many hours she spends with Lior while he is eating. Yes, even those at night! At the same time, his big sister Luna is not crazy about the fact that mom has her hands tied while doing so. She tries to find all kinds of ways to get her mom's attention. Well, who can blame her?
Papa continues to come by about once a week, usually timing his visit so that he gets to give Lior a bath. He is impressed by the speed at which his son is growing (below left), though Lior's hand still looks very small in his (below right). Big brother Ruben also comes along during one of the visits (below middle). Can you see the likeness between the two brothers? Two handsome fellas, that is what they are!
One thing Esther-Mirjam regrets about having sold her previous house is that she no longer has Anneke and Han as her neighbors. Fortunately, the sweet couple comes over for a visit (left) to admire the addition to the Sent household.
When Angeline and Michiel come over for a visit, they bring a lovely bouquet with one white flower symbolizing mom and two red flowers symbolizing Luna and Lior (far right). This reminds Esther-Mirjam of the fact that Esther means star, Luna moon, and Lior my light (middle right). They make a perfect trio!
Lior is quite busy on Father's Day. He visits papa (top left), Opa Ben (top right), and Opa Tano (bottom right). Now is Lior's arm getting squeezed by Luna while sitting on Opa Ben's lap? What a sister! One of the fun things with babies is trying to decide whom they look alike the most. When he is yawning, Lior certainly looks a lot like papa (bottom left).

Lior 2.5 months & Luna 2.5 years

Lior is much loved by his big sister Luna (row above). Esther-Mirjam is wondering whether hugs and kisses make a baby grow, for Lior is getting bigger and bigger (left and right). Quite appropriately, the shirt that reads "Mama's Big Boy" now barely fits him, while it was much too big at first.

Esther-Mirjam is facing a difficult decision. She has resisted using a pacifier up until now, but Lior appears to have found a substitute in his hands and fingers. Shall she start using a pacifier or shall she allow Lior to suck his hands and fingers? Fortunately, Lior is not giving her any problems besides this. He is turning into a very happy baby who smiles a lot and loves to have a good talk with his mom.

Hip, Hip, Hurray!
Three months old!

Time sure seems to slip through our fingers, with our Sun Baby celebrating his third Month Day. Okay, we cheated a little because the pictures below were taken on June 29. So Lior actually got treated to a massage the day before he turned three months. But then again, this whole Month Day thing is complicated by the fact that Lior was born in the 31st of March. Also, Lior now gets massaged at home every other day. Lucky boy!

Lior and mama complete their baby massage course, with Lior getting a full body massage (row above). They also demonstrate several carrying techniques (left). Lior loves to hang out with the other babies (right). Regular site visitors, should be able to pick out our Sun Baby (row below, left). Afterwards, Lior falls into a deep sleep within the loving arms of his mom (row below, right).
