Thirtythird Month of Lior Sent

Upon entering his thirtythird month on Planet Earth, our Sun Child pays another visit to the Youth Health Bureau (right). He weighs in at a little over 30 US pounds (13.8 kilo's) and measures a little over 36 inches (91.5 centimeters). His height puts him a little below average, but still well within the normal range. And he is growing right along with the curve. His weight is exactly right for his height. Lior passes all the tests with flying colors and is praised for being such a sweet boy.
Lior also prepares for a busy month ahead, with the Sinterklaas celebrations continuing and with his sister celebrating her fifth birthday. Sinterklaas brings presents to papa's house in Apeldoorn (row below).
When Sinterklaas has finally left the country, it is time to celebrate Luna's birthday with the girls from her school. Luna throws a real princess party (left) and our young prince figures it is best to sleep through most of the party, hence there are no pictures of Lior hanging out with the girls
As far as Lior is concerned, the best thing about Luna turning five is that he gets to hang out on Aafke's lap (middle right) and eat delicious birthday cake (far right). And he gets to play with her toys, of course!
Luna also celebrates her birthday at school. Lior accompanies her, playing the trumpet (far left), while watching the celebration from a safe distance (middle left).
With his sister's birthday celebrations behind him, Lior prepares for yet another celebration, Christmas (right). Lior and Luna are very proud to be able to help Esther-Mirjam decorate the Christmas tree.
Lior and Luna send warmest wishes for happy holidays to their friends and family (left).
And these pictures give a sense of what a hard time mom had to get a nice picture for the Sent Christmas card (row above, left, and right). Lior and Luna get along especially well when they team up against their mom!
Lior and Luna spend the first Christmas day at papa's home in Apeldoorn, where Luna takes a picture of her sisters (far left), while Lior hangs out with papa (middle left).
And they spend the second and the third Christmas days with their grandparents. With Lior now big enough to stand up against his big sister, the two have found a very nice balance in getting along with each other (right).
Lior and Luna also take advantage of the holiday time to visit Angeline, Michiel, and their children in Amsterdam. Angeline was Esther-Mirjam's editor-in-chief for a magazine with logical puzzles. The best part of the visit, as far as Lior and Luna are concerned, involves playing games on the television!
The holiday time also gives Lior and Luna the opportunity to create a few wonderful paintings at home (row below). Again, it is wonderful that Lior is now big enough to join in the fun.
Lior and Luna start New Years Eve lighting their own fireworks in the Sent kitchen (row below).
And then Lior and Luna beg mom to get to sleep in the same bed (row below). However, they are so busy hugging each other and having fun together that they are unable to fall asleep. In the end, Lior decides that he prefers to sleep in his own bed. Luna tries to join him in his bed, but there is really not enough room for her, so she finally withdraws into her own bed.
Lior wakes up around eleven in the evening because of the fireworks being lit underneath his bedroom window. And mom wakes up Luna a little before midnight, so she gets to eat an "oliebol" (literally "oil ball," but most like a donut) along with her brother and watch the fireworks at midnight. Lior spends two seconds outside before deciding that he prefers to watch with a window in between him and the fireworks.

Hip, Hip, Hurray!
Thirty-three months old!

Only three months to go and our sweet boy will turn three. Judging by his mental skills, one would almost think that he is about to turn four. Lior's favorite activity is talking, and he does a lot of it. When you ask him what the best thing is about turning three, he answers that he will then get to play in the ball pool at Ikea!
